I am often inspired by everyday things: a hairstyle, a building, a well-made drink. This time, my inspiration was sparked by a beautiful dress. I imagined how the watercolor-esque floral pattern on the dress would pop against the greens and blues of nature. My vision A Woman in Her Garden was piecing together more and more the longer I stared at the dress.

Kianna, a recently engaged graphic designer, and I met in college. She responded to my model call and we set a date to shoot at Longwood Gardens – the perfect backdrop. On the day of the shoot, we met in the parking lot where I comically had her put on the dress in a pop-up changing tent.

The weather was kind to us; it was a beautiful partly cloudy day with sunshine peeking through every now and then. Kianna looked stunning in the dress as she posed alongside structures covered in ivy and bushes rich with flowers – she truly was A Woman in Her Garden.
